June 3, 2009
Community Development
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville, MN 55113
Administrative Deviation Application
To whom it may concern,

I am applying for a Driveway Setback Deviation. I wish to add a parking pad as part of a
driveway replacement project. The proposed parking pad would be within 5 feet of the
property (ine (approximately 2-3 feet). I would like to add the parking pad for the following
reasons:
• I have three vehicles. I keep two vehicles in the garage, and the third vehicle is parked
on the street. The new parking pad would enable me to move my third vehicle from the
street to my driveway.
• Snelling Service Drive (Snelling Avenue N) is a busy street with many cars driving at
higher than normal residential speeds. I believe that parking a vehicle on Snelling
Service Drive creates a potential traffic hazard. Although parking is permitted on the
street, no other residents currently park a vehicle along this stretch of the road.
The addition of this parking pad should not impact any of the adjacent properties:
• Due to the unique positioning of my lot to adjacent properties, the parking pad would
be at least 40' from bedrooms on adjacent properties.
• The proposed parking pad would not create any storm water problems on the adjacent
property due to the slope of my lot.
• The proposed parking pad should not have an aesthetic impact due to the unique
orientation of the structures on my lot and the adjacent properties.
I thank you for your consideration of this request.
G'fni{7 'w° `
Edward Stroot
