<br /> <br /> <br />Park Shelters <br />Implementation Planning Session One <br />6 May 2013 <br />3 Attendees signed in <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting input <br /> <br />Following an overview of the Parks and Recreation Renewal Progra <br />the FORParks Shelter and Central Park Foundation Shelter, work session participants were <br />asked to respond to questions about the evolution of the park under the renewal program. <br />Responses are included in this summary. <br /> <br /> <br />Exercise One Issues <br /> <br />As a large group, participants were asked to share their thoughts about issues that needed <br />to be resolved at the park shelters. Responses included: <br /> <br />Central Park Foundation Shelter <br /> Bituminous paving around the outside is deteriorating <br /> Back looks like a bad shed <br /> Kids play behind the Jaycees Shelter; skateboarders on the wall; <br />FORParks Shelter <br /> Volleyballsand courts are used, need more hard surface courts and courts that <br />might be set up for Pickleball <br /> The shelter is removed from areas where activities are happeningdoesnt seem to <br />be part of the park <br /> Is a concessions area needed here? <br /> <br />Exercise Two Ideas <br /> <br />Participants were asked about ideas they might suggest as improvements to the shelters <br />and the areas around the shelters, especially ideas that would address issues noted in <br />Exercise One. <br /> <br />Shelter areaimprovements <br />Use pavers around the outside of the shelter <br />Building and shelter <br />Use a metal roof because it lasts longer <br />Add skylights so its not so dark <br />Dont let colors get dated <br /> <br />
