<br /> <br /> <br />Central Park Lexington <br />Implementation Planning Session One <br />28 May 2013 <br />9 Attendees Signed in <br /> <br />Meeting input <br /> <br />Following an overview of the Parks and Recreation Renewal Progra <br />Central Park Lexington, work session participants were asked to respond to questions about <br />the evolution of the park under the renewal program. The focus of the second park of the <br />meeting was an assessment of a master plan created for Central P <br />Responses are included in this summary. <br /> <br /> <br />Exercise One Issues <br /> <br />As a large group, participants were asked to share their thoughts about issues that needed <br />to be resolved at Central Park Lexington. Responses included: <br /> <br />Maintenance is needed at the south side of the lake between the <br />At the north side of the park along CR C, there is a deep dip whter doesnt drain <br />and there is a lot of undergrowth that attracts bad activities a <br />brush fire <br />How are walkways maintained in the HANC? <br />Lighting around the lake needs to be on all night, not turned of <br />security issue <br />Not much winter uselots of walkers, not much programmed activities <br />The restrooms are remote from activities <br />At Brooks and Oxford, there are dead trees (willow and oak) on t <br />an embarrassment <br />The south side of the lake needsto be cleared <br />Dead trees are important to wildlife(woodpeckers were noted); safety and wildlife <br />need to be balanced <br />The rose at the amphitheater looks bad <br />There needs to be an accessible viewing area at the amphitheater <br />There should be shade in the amphitheater but views should be kept open <br />The path around Bennett Lake is getting bad <br /> <br /> <br />Exercise Two Comparing directions/Ideas <br />Work session participants compared and assessed a master plan that was created in 2000 <br />for Central Park Lexington. A list of improvements anticipated by that master plan was <br />extracted for review the participants. <br /> <br />
