<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Langton Lake Park <br />Implementation Planning Session One <br />6 June 2013 <br />27 Attendees signed in <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting summary <br /> <br />Following an overview of the Parks and Recreation Renewal Program and the key directions <br />of the Parks and Recreation System Master Plan, meeting participants were asked to <br />respond to questions about potential improvements. <br /> <br /> <br />Exercise One Issues <br /> <br />As a group focused on a park, participants were asked to identify issues related to the <br />playground area or the park in general: <br /> <br />Group A <br /> Sidewalk dips on far west side near Applewood <br /> Needs something to shut out the sight of WalMart and the industrial park <br /> Congested parking lot at soccer fields <br /> Need better directions to get to parks <br /> Too many lily pads—everywhere <br /> No fish—too many geese <br /> Old soccer frames abandoned <br /> Buckthorn on eastern side of lake not removed <br />Group Three <br /> Presbyterian Homes smoking <br /> Ice on trails, particularly be east side of ballfields <br /> Holding ponds are dirty, unmaintained <br /> Some poison ivy (looks under control now) <br /> Don’t advertise CC ski trail if no one grooms it <br /> Trail intersection at west end of Lydia would be improved if Lydia section <br />continued toward ballfield (create triangle around trees and garbage can) <br /> Privacy from industrial area (west border) <br /> Garbage from industrial area and noise, snow dumping <br /> Concern about impact of development on south end (privacy) <br /> Restrooms (lack of) <br /> Material left by fishing dock (garbage) <br /> Milfoil, Chinese mystery snails, bucktho rn (invasive species), maintaining after <br />removal <br /> Barb wire/fencing removal
