<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br />City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 10th day of <br />April, 2000, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Wiski, Goedeke, Mastel & Kysylyczyn and the <br />following were absent: Maschka. <br /> <br />Member Goedeke introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 9763 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE <br />AUTO THEFT REDUCTION GRANT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City of Roseville Police Department statistics demonstrate that increased <br />surveillance through the use of officer overtime and community <br />awareness has decreased motor vehicle theft in the City of Roseville by <br />30% in 1999 from the previous year; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, motor vehicle theft creates immediate and unnecessary hardship on the <br />victim; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, investigating motor vehicle theft is a technical and time consuming job; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, grant money to pay for analysis and overtime costs incurred to reduce <br />motor vehicle theft is available from the Minnesota Auto Theft <br />Prevention Program; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council authorize the <br />acceptance of $12,500 in grant funds awarded to the Roseville Police <br />Department by the Minnesota Auto Theft Prevention Program, <br />Minnesota Department Public Safety. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br />Wiski and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Wiski, <br />Goedeke, Mastel & Kysylyczyn and the following voted against the same: none. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
