REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 9/9/13 <br /> Item No.: 7.g <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Approve a Resolution for the Final Acceptance and Maintenance for <br />Public Improvements Constructed for Birch Park <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />On April 24, 2006, the City Council approved a public improvement contract for BIRCH PARK, <br />2 <br />A 10- lot single family residential development encompassing what was 952, 960, and 978 <br />3 <br />Parker Avenue. These improvements included the construction of Chatsworth Circle, a cul- de- <br />4 <br />sac, sanitary sewer, watermain, and storm sewer improvements. These improvements were <br />5 <br />completed this year. <br />6 <br />The City worked with their Engineer during construction to ensure the improvements were <br />7 <br />installed according to approved plans and City specifications. <br />8 <br />PO <br />OLICYBJECTIVE <br />9 <br />The City Policy requires the following steps be completed to finalize the construction project: <br />10 <br />11 <br />Certification from the civil engineer in charge of the project verifying that all work has been <br />12 <br />completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. <br />13 <br />A resolution by the City Council accepting the project and beginning the two-year warranty <br />14 <br />period. <br />15 <br />FI <br />INANCIALMPACTS <br />16 <br />Since this was a developer initiated project, the City did not contribute to the cost to construct <br />17 <br />these public improvements. <br />18 <br />SR <br />TAFF ECOMMENDATION <br />19 <br />All necessary items have been completed in accordance with project plans and specifications. <br />20 <br />Since all items have been completed as outlined in the policy regarding final project acceptance, <br />21 <br />staff recommends the City Council approve a resolution accepting the public improvements. <br />22 <br />RCA <br />EQUESTEDOUNCILCTION <br />23 <br />Approve a resolution accepting the public improvements constructed for BIRCH PARK. <br />24 <br />Prepared by: Debra Bloom, City Engineer <br />Attachments: A: Resolution <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />
