<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF CITY COUNCIL <br />OF CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, <br />Minnesota, was held in the City Hall in said City on Tuesday, June 27, 2000 at 6:30 o'clock p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Goedeke, Wiski, Mastel, Maschka and Kysylyczyn and the <br />following were absent: none. <br /> <br />Councilmember Mastel introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 9785 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE STUDY AND <br />DEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTHEAST DIAGONAL TRANSITW A Y <br /> <br />WHEREAS, communities in the northeast metro area have designated the Northeast Diagonal Transit <br />Corridor; <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, Hennepin County is currently negotiating to purchase the west 2.5 miles of rail from <br />the Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad; <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, the North Metro 35W Corridor Coalition, as part of its current build-out study, has <br />set aside funds to begin planning of the Northeast Diagonal Transit Corridor; <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, the corridor has the potential to serve a large portion of the City ofRoseville; <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota and the Metropolitan Council have supported the expansion <br />of transit services in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area; <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, the Northeast Diagonal Transit Corridor is identified as a future transit corridor in <br />Metro Transit's Transit 2020 Master Plan; <br /> <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, that the <br />Council supports the ongoing planning, preservation and future improvements of the Northeast Diagonal <br />Transit Corridor. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Maschka, upon a <br />vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Goedeke, Wiski, Mastel, Maschka and <br />Kysylyczyn, and the following voted against the same: none. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
