EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF ROSEVILLE RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was held in the City Hall in said City on Tuesday, June 27, 2000 at 6:30 o'clock p.m. The following members were present: Goedeke, Wiski, Mastel, Maschka and Kysylyczyn and the following were absent: none. Councilmember Mastel introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION No. 9785 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE STUDY AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTHEAST DIAGONAL TRANSITW A Y WHEREAS, communities in the northeast metro area have designated the Northeast Diagonal Transit Corridor; AND WHEREAS, Hennepin County is currently negotiating to purchase the west 2.5 miles of rail from the Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad; AND WHEREAS, the North Metro 35W Corridor Coalition, as part of its current build-out study, has set aside funds to begin planning of the Northeast Diagonal Transit Corridor; AND WHEREAS, the corridor has the potential to serve a large portion of the City ofRoseville; AND WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota and the Metropolitan Council have supported the expansion of transit services in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area; AND WHEREAS, the Northeast Diagonal Transit Corridor is identified as a future transit corridor in Metro Transit's Transit 2020 Master Plan; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, that the Council supports the ongoing planning, preservation and future improvements of the Northeast Diagonal Transit Corridor. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Maschka, upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Goedeke, Wiski, Mastel, Maschka and Kysylyczyn, and the following voted against the same: none. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
