I Attachment B 2 3 CITY OF ROSEVILLE 4 OFFICIAL SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 5 6 7 AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 908: 8 RENTAL LICENSING FOR MULTIFAMILY RENTAL PROPERTIES OF 5 OR MORE 9 UNITS TO TITLE 9, BUILDING REGULATIONS, OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE 10 11 12 13 The City Council of the City of Roseville adopted Ordinance No. on , which is 14 summarized as follows: 15 16 The Roseville City Code, Title 9, Building Regulations, has been amended to include Chapter 17 908: Rental Licensing for Multifamily Rental Properties of 5 or More Units. The purpose of this 18 Chapter is to assure that Multifamily Rental Dwellings (MRDs) with 5 or more units in Roseville 19 are decent, safe, sanitary, and well maintained. The implementation of an MRD licensing 20 program is a mechanism to ensure that rental housing will not become a nuisance to the 21 neighborhood; will not foster blight and deterioration; and /or will not create a disincentive to 22 reinvestment in the community. Operators of MRDs are responsible to assure that residents and 23 children may pursue the normal activities of life in surroundings that meet the following criteria: 24 safe, secure, and sanitary; free from crimes and criminal activity, noises, nuisances, or 25 annoyances; and free from unreasonable fears about safety of persons and security of property. 26 27 28 The Roseville City Code is amended by 29 30 A printed copy of the ordinance is available for inspection by any person during regular office hours 31 in the office of the City Manager at the Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive, Roseville, 32 Minnesota 55113.
