CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> OFFICIAL SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 1456 <br /> AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 908: <br /> RENTAL LICENSING FOR MULTIFAMILY RENTAL PROPERTIES OF 5 OR MORE <br /> UNITS TO TITLE 9, BUILDING REGULATIONS, OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE <br /> The City Council of the City of Roseville adopted Ordinance No. 1456 on October 21, 2013, <br /> which is summarized as follows: <br /> The Roseville City Code, Title 9, Building Regulations, has been amended to include Chapter <br /> 908: Rental Licensing for Multifamily Rental Properties of 5 or More Units. The purpose of this <br /> Chapter is to assure that Multifamily Rental Dwellings (MRDs) with 5 or more units in Roseville <br /> are decent, safe, sanitary, and well maintained. The implementation of an MRD licensing <br /> program is a mechanism to ensure that rental housing will not become a nuisance to the <br /> neighborhood; will not foster blight and deterioration; and/or will not create a disincentive to <br /> reinvestment in the community. Operators of MRDs are responsible to assure that residents and <br /> children may pursue the normal activities of life in surroundings that meet the following criteria: <br /> safe, secure, and sanitary; free from crimes and criminal activity, noises, nuisances, or <br /> annoyances; and free from unreasonable fears about safety of persons and security of property. <br /> The Roseville City Code is amended by <br /> A printed copy of the ordinance is available for inspection by any person during regular office hours <br /> in the office of the City Manager at the Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive, Roseville, <br /> Minnesota 55113.
