CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> OFFICIAL SUMMARY OF <br /> ORDINANCE NO.1456 <br /> AN ORDINANCE ADDING <br /> CHAPTER 908: <br /> RENTAL LICENSING FOR <br /> MULTIFAMILY RENTAL <br /> PROPERTIES OF 5 OR MORE <br /> UNITS TO TITLE 9,BUILDING <br /> REGULATIONS,OF THE <br /> ROSEVILLE CITY CODE <br /> The City Council of the City of <br /> Roseville adopted Ordinance <br /> No.1456 on October 21,2013, <br /> which is summarized as follows: <br /> The Roseville City Code, Title <br /> 9, Building Regulations, has <br /> been amended to include <br /> Chapter 908: Rental Licensing <br /> for Multifamily Rental Properties <br /> of 5 or More Units.The purpose <br /> of this Chapter is to assure that <br /> Multifamily Rental Dwellings <br /> (MRDs) with 5 or more units in <br /> Roseville are decent, safe, <br /> sanitary, and well maintained. <br /> The implementation of an MRD <br /> licensing program is a <br /> mechanism to ensure that rental <br /> housing will not become a <br /> nuisance to the neighborhood; <br /> will not foster blight and <br /> deterioration; and/or will not <br /> create a disincentive to <br /> reinvestment in the community. <br /> Operators of MRDs are <br /> responsible to assure that <br /> residents and children may <br /> pursue the normal activities of <br /> life in surroundings that meet <br /> the following criteria: safe, <br /> secure, and sanitary; free from <br /> crimes and criminal activity, <br /> noises, nuisances, or <br /> annoyances; and free from <br /> unreasonable fears about safety <br /> of persons and security of <br /> property. <br /> The Roseville City Code is <br /> amended by <br /> A printed copy of the ordinance <br /> is available for inspection by any <br /> person during regular office <br /> hours in the office of the City <br /> Manager at the Roseville City <br /> Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive, <br /> Roseville, Minnesota 55113.
