qASEN+L�hE <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 12/09/13 <br />Item No.: 13.a <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />s <br />Item Description: Consider Suspending New Registrations for the Utility Rate Discount Program <br />1 BACKGROUND <br />2 At the November 25th and December 2nd City Council meetings, the Council expressed support for re- <br />3 designing the City's Utility Rate Discount program. It was noted at the meetings that it would take <br />4 approximately 6 months to research and design new Program objectives and eligibility requirements, <br />5 and to communicate those changes to residents. <br />6 <br />7 The Council indicated a desire to suspend all new registrations for the Program given the pending <br />s changes and given the fact that new registrants would only be allowed to remain on the Program for a <br />9 limited time. <br />10 <br />11 A resolution to suspend all new registrations for the Utility Discount program is included in Attachment <br />12 A.
