Department Approval <br />f�� <br />� <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: January 6, 2014 <br />Item No.: 13.b <br />City Manager Approval <br />���>-u.� <br />Item Description: Consider Citizen Advisory Commission Reappointments <br />BACKGROUND <br />Roseville has six standing advisory commissions. Commissions advise the Ciry Council on <br />specific actions and offer citizen input on issues of importance. <br />Annually the City Council requests interviews, appoints and reappoints Commissioners and/or <br />declares vacancies on the standing Commissions. <br />At the December 3, 2012 meeting, the City Council confirmed the reappointment calendar. They <br />agreed that at the January 6 organizational meeting, the Council would determine whether to <br />reappoint some or all of the commissioners who are reapplying, or invite them to be interviewed <br />at the January 27 Council meeting. Commissioners would be appointed to terms that begin April <br />1 through March 31, 2017. <br />Six commissioners on five commissions have expressed interest in reapplying to their various <br />commissions. Their attendance record for the previous 12 months is included and their <br />applications are attached. <br />Ethics Commission <br />Benjamin Lehman — eligible and requests reappointment: attended four of four meetings <br />Human Rights Commission <br />Kaying Thao — eligible and requests reappointment: attended seven of eleven meetings <br />Parks and Recreation Commission <br />Lee Diedrick — eligible and requests reappointment: attended eight of nine meetings <br />Plannin� Commission <br />James Daire — eligible and requests reappointment: attended seven of seven meetings <br />Michael Boguszewski — eligible and requests reappointment: attended eight of nine <br />meetings <br />Police Civil Service Commission <br />Zoe Jenkins — eligible and requests reappointment: attended four of four meetings <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
