Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday,January 06, 2014 <br /> Page 31 <br /> Further discussion ensued regarding general recommendation of the subcommit- <br /> tee regarding including advisory commission meeting minutes in the first City <br /> Council meeting packet of the month or in a timely fashion (e.g. within a week of <br /> the advisory commission meeting) to allow inclusion of them in the City Council <br /> deliberations and to send a positive message to advisory commissions. Additional <br /> recommendations included an exit interview for outgoing advisory commission <br /> commissioners as a learning process. <br /> Mayor Roe suggested providing guidance to staff to follow-through on those rec- <br /> ommendations; and as necessary drafting amendments to existing codes, with the <br /> subcommittee working with staff in accomplishing that goal. <br /> Mr. Trudgeon also noted previous direction to staff to simplify the uniformity <br /> where indicated and return those recommendations to the City Council for future <br /> reference. <br /> Mayor Roe offered his appreciation to the subcommittee for their efforts and their <br /> thoughtful recommendations. <br /> 15. City Manager Future Agenda Review <br /> Interim City Manager Trudgeon reviewed upcoming agenda items. <br /> 16. Councilmember-Initiated Items for Future Meetings <br /> Councilmember McGehee requested a discussion on garbage hauling as noted earlier in <br /> tonight's discussion. <br /> Mayor Roe offered Interim City Manager Trudgeon the option to have his evaluation in <br /> open or closed session; with Mr. Trudgeon's response that he wanted it to be held in <br /> Closed Session. <br /> Closed Executive Session <br /> Mayor Roe and City Attorney Bartholdi referenced State Statutes, Section ad.d.05 (3.a) <br /> permitting City Council meetings to be closed in order to discuss certain matters relating <br /> to labor relations and personnel issues. <br /> Willmus moved, Etten seconded, adjourning to Closed Executive Session for the periodic <br /> performance evaluation of Interim City Manager Patrick Trudgeon discussion at approx- <br /> imately 8:55 p.m. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Laliberte; McGehee; Willmus; Etten; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> McGehee moved, Laliberte seconded, to recess the closed session at approximately 9:58 <br /> P.M. and return to open session for the purpose of a motion to extend the meeting past <br /> the curfew. <br />
