Roseville Seeking Advisory Commission Applications <br />The Roseville City Council is seeking applicants for vacancies on several <br />commissions, including the Community Engagement Commission and the Finance <br />Commission that the council established earlier this year. <br />Commissions serve as voluntary advisory boards to the City Council. Deadline for <br />applying is Wednesday, March 5. Interviews will be conducted the week of March <br />10. Dates and times will be determined depending upon number of applicants. <br />Community Engagement Commission - seven vacancies NEW <br />The seven-member Community Engagement Commission will look at ways to <br />increase and improve community involvement, including engaging more residents <br />in civic affairs and governance and in volunteering. The commission will meet the <br />second Thursday of each month (subject to change). <br />Ethics Commission - one vacancy <br />The five-member Ethics Commission advises the City Council on matters involving <br />the City's ethics code, administration of the ethics code and other responsibilities <br />delegated by the City Council. The commission meets quarterly. <br />Finance Commission -7 vacancies NEW <br />The Finance Commission will focus on transparency and accessibility of financial <br />information, the budget process, including, financial policies, recommendations on <br />funding strategies for the capital improvement plan and budget goals and <br />objectives in such areas as local tax rate and spending targets. The commission will <br />meet the second Tuesday of each month (subject to change). <br />Human Rights Commission - one vacancy <br />The seven-member Human Rights Commission provides a method for citizen input <br />concerning human rights issues and promotes a positive human rights climate in <br />the community through public education. The commission meets the third <br />Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. <br />Parks and Recreation Commission - one vacancy <br />The nine-member Parks and Recreation Commission provides for citizen input <br />concerning parks and recreation facilities, programs, needs and concerns. The <br />commission identifies areas, which may require action or change to promote a safe <br />and responsive Parks and Recreation program. The commission meets the first <br />Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. <br />Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission - four vacancies <br />The seven-member Commission advises Council and staff on public works, <br />environmental and transportation matters. The commission maintains an interest in <br />and an understanding of the Public Works Department and in federal, state, county, <br />regional and other services that impact the City's public works functions. They meet <br />the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. <br />
