Department Approval
. : ,

REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Date: 02/24/2014
Item No.: 7.f
City Manager Approval

Item Description: To Set Public Hearing to Consider Approving an On-Sale and Sunday
Intoxicating Liquor License for Digby's Roseville, LLC located at 854 Rosedale
Center #1010.
BACKGROUND
Under City Code, a public hearing is required to consider approving liquor licenses for the current
calendar year. The City has received an application for a 2014 Liquor License as follows:
❖ Digby's Roseville, LLC — On-Sale and Sunday Intoxicating Liquor License
:• Digby's Roseville, LLC — Outside Sales and Consumption Endorsement
The endorsement will be for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages outside of the licensed
premises. Digby's is allowed by Rosedale Mall to utilize the concrete area just outside their private
entrance for seasonal outdoor seating.
Neither State Statute nor City Code limits the number of licenses that can be issued for On-Sale and
Sunday Intoxicating Liquor licenses.
POLICY OBJECTIVE
The regulation of establishments that sell alcoholic beverages has been a long-standing practice by the
State and the City.
FINANCIAL IMPACTS
The revenue that is generated from the license fees is used to offset the cost of police compliance
checks, background investigations, enforcement of liquor laws, and license administration.
REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION
To set public hearing for March 10, 2014 to consider approving/denying the requested liquor license for
  calendar year 2014.
Prepared by: Chris Miller, Finance Director
Attachment A: Applicarion
