Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />March 28, 2014 — Draft Minutes <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />1g1 Chair Groff explained he attended the annual League of Minnesota Human Rights Commission <br />1 g2 meeting. He reported he was voted to the Board and then discussed the goals and visions for the <br />183 Minnesota HRC. He commented the group was hoping to encourage greater coordinate human <br />184 rights efforts among regions in the State. <br />185 <br />186 • Option of Community Dialogue titled, "Uncovering Five Myths that Support Racism" <br />187 <br />188 Chair Groff suggested the HRC consider holding a community dialogue titled Uncovering Five <br />1 g9 Myths that Support Racism. He reported one of the speakers at the recent League of Minnesota <br />190 Human Rights Commissions meeting discussed this topic at length and he was interested in <br />191 having this speaker coordinate a dialogue that would further address this issue with Roseville, <br />192 Shoreview and Falcon Heights residents. He reported the speaker had dates available in May. <br />193 <br />194 <br />195 <br />196 <br />197 <br />198 <br />199 <br />200 <br />Zoi <br />202 <br />203 <br />Vice Chair Becker and Commissioner Brisbois supported this idea. <br />Chair Groff would contact the speaker to find potential dates in May to schedule the proposed <br />community dialogue. <br />Commissioner Grefenberg recommended this dialogue be properly advertised in order to gain <br />interest from the public. <br />New Business <br />204 Commissioner Grefenberg stated this was his last meeting on the HRC. He encouraged the <br />205 Commission to follow up with residents that attended +� last year's community <br />206 dialogues and report on actions that had taken place since the dialogue k�e�-e� in res�onse to <br />207 their comments. She reviewed that the Commission had <br />219 agreed to spend up to $300 for the Naturalization Ceremony and would not be spending $100 on <br />22o the Rosefest parade, as this fee was waived. Discussion ensued regarding the format of the <br />221 financial report.
