Department Approval <br />�i.► - _. <br />Item Description: <br />BACKGROUND <br />����� <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 4/14/2014 <br />Item No.: S.c <br />City Manager Approval <br />��--��-�.�.- <br />Recognize and Accept a Donation from Roseville Police Foundation <br />The Roseville Police Foundation's mission is to advance public safery by supporting and providing <br />additional resources to strengthen the Roseville Police Department's ties to the community. This will be <br />achieved by enhancing RPD's capacity to provide quality services through safety outreach initiatives <br />and the pursuit of innovative training and technology. <br />The Roseville Police Foundation was recently recognized by the State of Minnesota as a non-profit, 501 <br />(c) (3) corporation. At the latest meeting, the board voted to donate a canine tactical vest for Roseville <br />K9, Sieger, who is partnered with Roseville Police Officer Brooke Jennings. The vest offers ballistic <br />along with edged weapon protection and is valued at $2,718.00. <br />This will be the first donation of the Roseville Police Foundation and several members of the board will <br />be present at the meeting. Members of the Roseville Police Foundation are: President Jim <br />Faulconbridge, Vice President Julie Wearn, Treasurer Michael Bilski, Secretary Kathy Ploof, Hugh <br />Thibodeau, Dick Houck, Janet Henquinet and Scott Michaelis. <br />OBJECTIVE <br />The donation fits within the City of Roseville donation policy. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />There is no cost to the city. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Allow the police department to accept the donation of the Roseville Police Foundation, formally <br />recognize the foundation and show our appreciation for the generous support of the police department. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Request Council approval to accept the donation of the Roseville Police Foundation, farmally recognize <br />the foundation and show our appreciation for the generous support of the police department. <br />Prepared by: Rick Mathwig, Chief of Police <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
