<br />New multi-family housing is provided in the north east comer of the City Center and west of the <br />new City Hall. <br /> <br />Development Option B <br /> <br />Option B (Illustration I) proposes keeping City Halt in its existing location with a new 20,000 SF <br />addition to the west that would accommodate an expanded police station and relocated license <br />bureau and parks and recreation department. <br /> <br />A new Community Center (40,000 SF) is located to the north of the Recreation Center effectively <br />linking all the recreation and community center functions together in one complex. <br /> <br />New multi-family residential is located on the north and east sides of the City Center with ground <br />level service commercial uses. <br /> <br />Structured parking is located in the northeast comer of the City Center in a location that <br />minimizes its impact on the City Square. Access to the parking can be obtained from the City <br />Square of directly from Woodhill Drive. Additional parking is located in a one level ramp over <br />the existing Ice Arena surface parking lot and in a surface parking lot to the north of the Ice <br />Arena. <br /> <br />The comer of County Road C and Lexington A venue has been kept undeveloped. A new <br />pedestrian connection is illustrated to Central Park through an enhanced landscaped environment. <br /> <br />Development Option C <br /> <br />Option C (Illustration J) proposes keeping City Hall in its existing location with no expansion. <br /> <br />A new Community Center (40,000 SF) is proposed on the east side of City Square. A <br />"wintergarden" at the comer of County Road C and Lexington Avenue provides a year round <br />indoor public gathering place and a strong link between City Halt and the Community Center. <br /> <br />A new Public Safety Building (50,000 SF) is proposed on the north side of City Square that <br />would accommodate a new police station and fire station. The police station would be the portion <br />of the building fronting onto City Square. The fire station would be attached to the police station <br />and situated in a manner for easy vehicle flow in and out ofthe facility. The design would <br />encourage inbound non-emergency vehicle movement from the new north/south road, with out <br />bound on caU emergency vehicles accessing directly on to Woodhill Drive and Lexington <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />Parking would be provides for aU uses in a new parking structure (150 spacesl1evel, 4 - 5 levels) <br />located in the northeast comer of the City Center with access from City Square and Woodhill <br />Drive. The ground floor of the parking Structure would be reserved for police vehicle storage <br />and police force and firefighter parking.
