. . IX. Conclusions. Recommendations and Next Steps The City Center Task Force has concluded that Master Plan Options A and B provide to viable alternatives for consideration by RoseviIle Planning Commission and City CounciL Both options establish a new City Square as a new public gathering place and as a focus for a new Community Center, Recreation Center and expanded City Government Center. Option A includes the potential for introducing residential development that could help to offset public sector investment in the City Center. Option B includes a new Public Safety Center as a potential component of the City Center. The Roseville City Center Task Force recommends that the Planning Commission and City Council take these recommendations under review as they consider the potential of developing a new City Center for the City ofRoseviIle. A number of more detailed studies need to be undertaken to confinn a particular direction. The next steps include: . Planning Commission and City Council approve Roseville City Center Master Plan and Development Strategy. . Public Works prepares program for new Public Works Garage, location strategy and relocation costs. . Fire Department conducts a needs and location analysis to assess where Fire Station #1 should be located. Prepare program and preliminary plans for new fire stationlPublic Safety Center. . Police Department refines program and prepares preliminary plans for new police facilities/Public Safety Center · Parks and Recreation Department prepares detailed program and preliminary plans for Community Center, Recreation Center and Indoor Pool. · Community Development Department prepares development plans for reuse of Arona Center site. · City seeks developer interest in residential development.
