Mr. Telstad is
requesting the variance to allow him to leave his existing driveway
at its present location. The driveway exits onto Lydia Avenue which
is being redone as part of the City's pavement management program.
The existing driveway is located 27 feet away from the Fairview
Avenue right-of-way instead of the required 30 feet. This is a
setback from an intersection not a sideyard and thus, is not
considered under the blanket variance system.

The Minor Variance Committee believed this was a reasonable request
because if the driveway were relocated, an existing evergreen tree
would have to be removed.

All impacted neighbors supported the project.

Requirement:
Proposed:
Variance:
% Variance:

30 feet
27 feet
3 feet
10%

COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to approve/deny James Telstad's
request for a minor variance at 2993 N.
Fairview Avenue.
