Dale
Street.

As part of the requirements for cleaning up ground water and soil
contamination at the B-Dale Amoco station, there needs to be a
temporary structure to enclose equipment necessary for a soil
venting and ground water recovery system. The property owner has
applied for a permit to have a temporary 14X16 foot structure
adjacent to the alley behind the structure which houses the Carbones
Pizza and other tenants. As part of the proposed equipment, there
would be vent pipes which would extend approximately 5 to 7 feet
above the roof of the apartment building to minimize impact on the
adjacent apartments.

It is recommended that the City Council approve a permit for a
temporary building to house the equipment necessary to clean up the
ground water and soil contamination at B-Dale Amoco at 2164 N. Dale
Street with the condition that the structure be removed and that the
site be restored to its current condition when the site is cleaned
according to PCA and EPA standards or within three years. If the
site does not meet PCA and EPA standards at the end of three years,
then the applicant should request an extension to the permit.

COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to approve B-Dale Amoco's request
for a temporary building at 2164 N. Dale
Street with the aforementioned condition.

"
