PLANNING REPORT

DATE:

13 March 1991

CASE NUMBER:

2207

APPLICANT:

The Bedroom, Inc.

LOCATION:

2525 North Snelling (see
sketch)

ACTION REQUESTED:

variance
Ordinance

to

Zoning

PLANNING CONSIDERATIONS:

1. BACKGROUND

This is a request for two variances from the sign
ordinance. The first is a setback variance, to allow the
sign to be 30 feet tall, as opposed to the 25 feet allowed
by code. The second variance is to allow a sign with 176
square feet of area, as opposed to the 70 square feet
allowed by code.

When we initially met with the applicants to discuss this
matter, we explained the procedure of taking photographs
and superimposing both the signs that would comply with
the code and the proposed sign on them for comparison
purposes. At that time, the applicants were planning to
request a setback variance too. After going through this
exercise, they concluded that no setback variance was
needed.

2. DEVELOPMENT SUMMARY

Approval of this application would allow a 30-foot tall
pylon sign with 176 square feet of sign area to be located
in front of this building.

3.
