~~D1

REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

DATE: 3-25-91
ITEM NO.: C. #,}....;

proval:

Manager Reviewed:

~~

Agenda Section:
Hearings

ion: David Brainard request for an interim use
permit to allow the use of the existing
structure at 2140 County Road C as a truck
repair facility.

Backqround:

1. The City recently passed an ordinance to allow interim use of
property.

2. The Roseville Planning Commission, on a 4-3 vote, recommends
denial of the interim use permit because the proposed truck
facility use would not be allowed in the B-4 zoning district.

Alternatives:

Approve the interim use permit with conditions to allow
applicant to use the site but at the same time control
use and bring about some temporary improvement to
property.

2. Deny the application based on inconsistency with the B-4
zoning district and the minimal site improvements proposed.

1.

the
the
the

Policy Objectives:

1. To allow temporary use of properties for an interim period
until redevelopment occurs.

staff Recommendation:

1. This application is truly a judgement call and staff
recommends its denial. However, if the City Council were to
decide to look favorably on the proposal, the following
conditions should be attached:

a. That a maximum number of trucks, to be located on the
site at anyone time, should be established.

b. That the applicant commit to keeping the weeds cut on
the site, litter picked up, and that storage should be
limited to designated areas.
