Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday,March 24,2014 <br /> Page 32 <br /> Willmus moved, Etten seconded, to appoint Hodder to the Finance Commission <br /> for a three year term ending March 31, 2017. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; Etten; McGehee; and Roe. <br /> Nays: Laliberte. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> McGehee moved, Etten seconded, to appoint Cartier to the Finance Commis- <br /> sion for a three year term ending March 31, 2017. <br /> Councilmember McGehee expressed her favorable impression with Cartier's <br /> knowledge of budgets. <br /> Councilmember Willmus spoke in support of the motion, noting how pleased with <br /> all the applicants and the position it placed the City Council in with making these <br /> difficult choices. <br /> Councilmember Etten concurred with the comments of Councilmembers McGe- <br /> hee and Etten, opining that he liked Cartier's experience with local government <br /> budgets and banking business regulators. <br /> Councilmember Laliberte spoke in support of the motion, but expressed her inter- <br /> est in the qualifications of Strawser and hoped he'd find a way to engage in the <br /> future. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; Etten; McGehee; Laliberte; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> For the record, Mayor Roe noted that, due to the substitute motion by Willmus, <br /> the original motion by McGehee had become moot. <br /> Mayor Roe congratulated all appointees; and advised that joint meetings of the <br /> City Council and the two new Commissions: Community Engagement and Fi- <br /> nance, would be scheduled in the near future. <br /> 14. Business Items—Presentations/Discussions <br /> a. Discuss Winter Weather Impacts on Utility Service Laterals <br /> Public Works Director Duane Schwartz provided a brief update to-date on winter <br /> weather impacts on utility service laterals, as detailed in the RCA dated March 24, <br /> 2014. <br /> Further updates since printing of the RCA indicate a total of 127 properties with <br /> frozen water services, and up to 48 that may remain without water service based <br />
