Legal Description: P.I.N. 15-29-23-13-0049. <br /> <br />History of Driveway <br /> <br />In 1959 I wished to put up a two car garage facing Dellwood Street the <br />same distance from the street as my neighbor directly north of me. I was <br />told at Vl1lage Hall that the Code then required an additional 15' setbacl< <br />from the street. This would have made it necessary to fill in that area of <br />my yard about 3' higher. I decided against this. <br />I then asked about a single car garage parallel with Dellwood and a <br />circular driveway as I wished to park a car on the north leg of the <br />driveway. This was O.K. at the time, so I built the garage. (Permit #6698, <br />issued Jun. 10, 1959) At this approximate time I put in crushed rock for <br />the driveway. This wasn't the greatest, so in 1962 I edged the driveway <br />with cement 4" 'cap' type blocks to retain the crushed rock. (exhibit '8' <br />shows the house, garage, and driveway) Later I had Asphalt Driveway <br />Company rework the base and resurface the driveway with asphalt. (Permit <br />#21419, issued May 20, 1983) The driveway has remained the same to this <br />date, save for being coated twice. <br /> <br />Reason for Variance Request <br /> <br />The relocation of the south leg of the diveway as suggested In Exhibit <br />'A' makes it all but impossible to drive in or out of my garage. Also <br />necessitates the removal of some large 30 year old ll1ic bushes used as a <br />privacy shield for our windows facing Dellwood.
