Roseville, MN - Official Website <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />needs to take action on the Commission ?s recommendation to create a new Commission to <br />assume the Civic Engagement responsibilities which the HRC currently shoulders; and 4) <br />Staff needs to proactively seek our ways to support the Commission's work. <br />Grefenberg asked if there were any questions or issues any Commissioner wished to raise. <br />There being none, he indicated he had discussed these concerns with the new Interim City <br />Manager Pat Trudgeon and he was here this evening to provide further comment. <br />Interim City Manager Trudgeon expressed his appreciation for the invitation to this evening's <br />meeting. He reassured the HRC of the City's commitment to the HRC and had not lost sight <br />of the support required. He stated that there would be some transition over the next few <br />months to guarantee the appropriate resources were in place. He reminded the Commission <br />that it had an upcoming joint meeting HRC and the City Council. <br />Chair Grefenberg thanked Mr. Trudgeon and Ms. Curti for updating the Commission's web <br />site in order to be congruent with the recently- approved HRC brochure and bylaws. <br />Approve Minutes <br />Commissioner Groff moved and Chair Grefenberg seconded a motion to approve a portion of <br />the minutes from April 17, 2013 (lines 192 -221) as amended. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chair Grefenberg moved and Commissioner Becker seconded a motion to approve the May <br />15, 2013 meeting minutes as distributed. Motion passed (Singleton and Thao abstained <br />because they were not present at the May 15tH ) <br />Public Comment <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Commission on an item not on the <br />agenda, the chair moved to the next agenda item. <br />Interview Committee Report <br />Accept Committee Recommendation and Recommend Council Approval of Sungmoon Lim as <br />Youth Commissioner: Chair Grefenberg stated the interview committee composed of <br />Commissioners Brisbois, Becker, and Groff, and Youth Commissioner was recommending the <br />Commission recommend approval to the City Council of Sungmoon Lim as Youth <br />Commissioner for a term to end July 31, 2014. He referred to the Interview Committee <br />Report prepared on June 12th and included in the meeting packet, noting that he had <br />prepared this report in consultation with Interview Committee members Brisbois and Groff. <br />Commissioner Groff explained that there was an impressive group of students to interview <br />and he thanked each youth member for participating. <br />Commissioner Becker moved and Commissioner Brisbois seconded a motion to accept the <br />committee recommendation and recommend Council approval of Sungmoon Lim as Youth <br />Commissioner for a term to expire on July 31, 2014. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chair Grefenberg indicated Sungmoon Lim would be sworn in at the August meeting. He <br />commented Youth Commissioner Laden or Siliciano could serve as an alternate for the HRC. <br />Committee and Chair Reports <br />Outreach Committee <br />HRC Participation in Rose Parade: Noting that the Rose Parade would be held next Monday, <br />June 24, Grefenberg encouraged as many Commissioners as possible to join the HRC <br />contingent in the parade; he encouraged members to bring their children to participate in <br />this event. <br />http:// mn- roseville. civicplus .com /Archive.aspx ?ADID= 1556 &PREVIEW =YES 5/5/2014 <br />
