The Chair having mentioned this fall as a <br />suggested time, Commissioner Groff cautioned that fall might be overly ambitious. <br />Chair Grefenberg noted he was willing to serve as liaison with those who had volunteered to <br />provide follow -up on the second Dialogue's four sets of proposals, adding that Megan Dushin <br />and Corey Yunke had also volunteered. He stated he would report back to the HRC at a <br />future meeting and would move forward with limited involvement from other Commissioners <br />in hopes of gaining additional volunteers from the community. <br />Chair Grefenberg stated he was interested in meeting with the Karen Community to discuss <br />program planning. He requested Commissioners Groff and Thao attend a future meeting with <br />this group. Commission Groff volunteered to attend this future meeting. <br />Chair Grefenberg recommended the youth commissioners meet this summer to discuss the <br />planning for fall youth programs and activities and report back to the Commission at a future <br />meeting. <br />Commissioner Thao recommended the goals and objectives of the HRC be placed on a <br />calendar to assist with achieving goals in a more timely manner throughout the year. Youth <br />Commissioner Siliciano suggested a shared Google calendar be an option. <br />Chair's Report (Continued) <br />Appointment to Operations Committee: Grefenberg reported that he had asked Wayne <br />Groff to serve on the Operations Committee and he had accepted. <br />July 10th Deadline for Applying for Commission Vacancy: Chair Grefenberg encouraged <br />HRC members to pursue interested individuals to apply for the Commission vacancy. He <br />explained that interested individuals could apply on the City ?s website and interviews would <br />take place on July 15. <br />Report of the May 14th Creating a Safe and Connected Community Small Groups: <br />Chair Grefenberg noted that this report was included in the Commissioners 'meeting packets <br />for information only. <br />League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions <br />Chair Grefenberg stated he would be attending the League of Minnesota Human Rights <br />Commissions Board meeting in Red Wing next Saturday. He asked if his mileage would be <br />covered, and Staff Liaison responded in the affirmative. <br />Staff Report <br />Reporting to the Bush Foundation on Current Community Dialogues Grant Monies: <br />Carolyn Curti said she would be reporting to the Bush Foundation on how the grant monies <br />were spent on the two recent community dialogues. <br />Chair Grefenberg also reported that only about $200 of the $500 HRC ?s money allocated for <br />the dialogues had been spent so approximately $300 remained for future use. <br />Future Availability of Bush Foundation Grants: Ms. Curti explained an additional Bush <br />Foundation grant opportunity with a December 2013 deadline may be a possibility for the <br />HRC.
