Roseville, MN - Official Website Pagel of 8 You are here:Home > Archive Center View Other Items in this Archive I View All Archives I Printable Version Human Rights Commission Human Rights Commission Meeting Minutes November 20, 2013 Commissioners: Scot Becker, Vice Chair Jill Brisbois, Michele Courneya, Chair Gary Grefenberg, and Kayi ng Thao (arrived at 6:40 p.m.) Youth Commissioner: Sarah Thomas and Sungmoon Lim Commissioners Absent: Joan Dao, David Singleton and Wayne Groff Staff Present: Carolyn Curti Also Present: Mohamed Keynan & unidentified youth Call to Order The Human Rights Commission (HRC) meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. Chair Gary Grefenberg requested commissioners introduce themselves. Approve Agenda Chair Grefenberg requested changes to the agenda: the election of officers would be at a time certain no later than 8:00 p.m., and that the remarks by the outgoing chair be held after the election. Commissioner Scot Becker moved and Vice Chair Jill Brisbois seconded a motion to approve the agenda as amended. Motion passed unanimously. Approve Minutes Vice Chair Jill Brisbois moved and Commissioner Scot Becker seconded a motion to approve the minutes of October 16, 2013 as distributed. Motion passed unanimously. Public Comment There being no one present wishing to speak to the Commission on an item not on the agenda, the chair moved to the next agenda item. Committee and Chair Reports Chair ?s Report Update on Karen Initiative: Chair Grefenberg provided an update on the HRC ?s Karen Initiative. He explained the Karen Organization of Minnesota (KOM) had sought his assistance in_was seeking a venue to hold a traditional New Year ?s Celebration _on January 4, 2014.
