Michael Bowen has requested a variance to allow him to <br />locate pool equipment which would be forty seven and a half <br />feet from the adj acent residences instead of the required <br />fifty feet. <br /> <br />3. The minor variance committee unanimously recommended <br />approval of the variance because of the small amount of <br />variance requested, the agreement by the adjacent neighbor, <br />and because the lack of reasonable alternatives based on the <br />location of windows on the house. <br /> <br />Alternatives: <br /> <br />1. Deny the variance and require the pool equipment to be <br />located in accordance with the ordinance. <br /> <br />2. To approve the variance based on the finding of a hardship. <br /> <br />Policy Obiectives: <br /> <br />1. To ensure that development does not adversely affect adjacent <br />neighbors. <br /> <br />2. To ensure development in accordance with the standards set by <br />the City Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendations: <br /> <br />1. It is recommended that City Council approve Michael Bowen's <br />request for a minor variance at 2021 Autumn Place. <br />
