County Road B. <br /> <br />Backqround: <br /> <br />1. The City ordinances require that there be a 30 foot setback <br />from the side street on a corner lot. <br /> <br />2. The City issued a permit for a house to be built at the site <br />in 1959. The existing house had a 22 foot setback instead of <br />the required 30 feet. <br /> <br />3. The dwelling was destroyed by fire in 1990. The owner wishes <br />to reconstruct a dwelling utilizing the existing foundation. <br /> <br />Alternatives: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Deny the variance and require the new <br />constructed in accordance with the <br />requirements. <br /> <br />dwelling to be <br />City's setback <br /> <br />2. Grant the variance as requested. <br /> <br />policv Obiectives: <br /> <br />1. To bring non-conforming structures int~compliance over time. <br />2. To grant variances where hardships exist. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />1. It is recommended that the City Council approve Henry Savard's <br />request for a minor variance at 386 W. County Road B with the <br />condition that he utilize the existing foundation. <br />
