Victoria Street Roseville, Minnesota 55113 May 3, 1991 City of Roseville Minor Variance Board 2660 Civic Center Drive Roseville, Minnesota 55113 Dear Members of the Board: I am George John Reiling, the owner of the property located at 3063 N. Victoria Street, Roseville, Minnesota 55113 Last summer, the Roseville City Council approved a division of my property to allow construction of another single family home north of my existing home. I have now decided to construct a home on the property this spring. Because of the narrow width of the lot along Victoria Street, I have chosen a home plan which is basically a rectangle 38' wide by 60' deep including the attached double garage. The attached 20' x 20' double garage is to be placed forward of the main home by about 12' with a driveway entering on to Brenner Avenue (See attached drawing). I am requesting a minor variance to the Roseville City code to allow the 20' x 20' double garage and attached driveway only to be built to within 30' of the easterly property line facing Victoria Street, rather than a 40' setback as called for by the City code. My reasoning for placing the garage portion only of the home to within 30' of the easterly property line is twofold: First, the amount of fill needed to construct my driveway to Brenner Avenue will be considerably reduced and will save a mature oak tree currently located on the Brenner Avenue Boulevard. Second, by moving the garage portion only to within 30' of the east property line (along Victoria Street), I will be able to move the entire home forward 10' on the lot to allow me to save two large, beautiful mature oak trees which will then be located to the rear of the newly constructed home.
