Waldron
Rick Jopke ø

PROM:

SUBJ'1!:CT: Status of discussions concemine¡ a common sign at
County Road C and Snelling Avenue.

Based on Councilmember Maschka' s direction, I sent a letter to
all the businesses in the northeast quadrant of County Road C and
Snel1inq Avenue inviting their input on the possibility of
constructinq a common business identi ty sign in the area. So
far I have had the following comments and reactions:

1. Slumberland

Mary Halverson from Slumberland indicated that they would be
interested in such a sign because apparently customers have
indicated a difficulty in finding their store.

2. Olive Garden Restaurant

3im Otto inãicated that they have no interest in any kind of
siqnage at County Road C and Snelling Avenue but could see
some kind of a directional sign at C-2 and Snelling and at
County Road C and the frontage road directinq people to turn
at that intersection to get to the restaurants in the area.

3. Ros.villa Communitv Bank

Donovan Fischer indicated preliminarily that they did not
nead it or have any interest in participating financially in
the construction of any such sign.

4. Investors Savinas Bank

Roger Xampsted indicated that they had no interest in such a
sign.

5. Fuddruckers

Mike Platt indicated to me that they weren't particularly
interested in such a sign but would participate in the
discussions.

I have not heard from Cattle company Restaurant or Kahn's
Restaurant as of this time.

Technically speaking, this kind of a si9n would not be allowed
under our present ordinance because it would be advertising
