Michael Platt/Fuddruckers originally requested a variance to <br />sign height, sigh size, and sign setback to allow a sign <br />which would be visible over the top of the Investor's Savings <br />Bank Building at the corner of Snelling and County Road C. <br />The applicant has subsequently revised his request such that <br />only the minimum amount of additional height is being <br />requested to make the sign visible over the top of Investor's <br />Savings. No setback or size variance is now being <br />requ~sted. <br /> <br />2. The city Council has continued consideration of this matter <br />until February 24, 1992 and directed staff to send a copy of <br />thte resolution passed by the Council to MNDOT. MNDOT has <br />not responded to the City's request. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />City staff also reviewed past files and minutes <br />determined that Mr. Platt has expressed concern about <br />impact of Investors Savings Bank on the visibility of <br />business prior to construction of the bank and <br />encouraged to look at signage changes which is what he is <br />proposing. <br /> <br />and <br />the <br />his <br />was <br />now <br /> <br />4. The Roseville Planning Commission, on a 4-2 vote, recommended <br />approval of Michael PlattjFuddruckers request for a sign <br />height variance at 2740 Snelling Avenue North subject to the <br />condition that the variance only apply to the current <br />restaurant operation. <br /> <br />Alternatives: <br /> <br />1. Deny the variance based on the fact that no hardship or <br />practical difficulty exists. <br /> <br />2. Grant the variance based on thè finding that hardship and <br />practical difficulties exist on the site. <br /> <br />Policy Objectives: <br />
