<br />APPLICANTS' STATEMENT PURSUANT TO ITEM 10D <br /> <br />Appl1 cants' home, located on the property which 1s the subject of, requested mmor <br />variance, currently conta1ns approxlmately 1,500 square feet of f1n1shed space. It 1s a three <br />bedroom home. Occupants of the home include Appl1cants and the1r three ch11dren ages 6, 3 <br />and 3 months. <br /> <br />The proposed improvement to the home w1l1 add a fourth bedroom, new kitchen, add1tlonal <br />Hving room space, a dining room and additional storage. The home 1s currently woeful1y <br />lacking in storage space, eating space and bedrooms for a fam11y of five. The improvement <br />w111 add approximately 500 square feet of finished space. <br /> <br />Attached to the back of the home is an expensive 14' x 20' red cedar deck. The deck was <br />constructed In April of 1990. To move the proposed improvement to the back of the home <br />would require destruct10n of the deck and add1tional expense in constructing a new deck. <br /> <br />The contractor estimates that 1t would be significantly more expensive to construct an <br />improvement sim11ar to the proposed improvement at the back of the home. <br /> <br />Finally, the fo11owing properties In the neighborhood appear to have received a mmor <br />variance similar to that being requested by Applicants: <br /> <br />1. 938 Transit (garage) <br />2. 952 Transit (garage) <br />3. 976 Transit (garage) <br /> <br />Based upon the forego1ng, the Appl1cants respectfully request a minor var1ance to <br />construct the proposed 1mprovement. . <br />
