Carl Fisher wishes to construct a addition onto the existing
attached garage which would have a setback of 8'1" instead of
the required 10 feet.

3. The affected adjacent neighbor has signed indicating their
approval of the variance.

4. The Minor Variance Committee unanimously recommended approval
of Carl Fisher's request for a minor variance. The Committee
felt that this was a reasonable request because the odd shape
of the lot and the fact that only a small corner of the
proposed addition would not have the required 10 foot
setback and because the proposed location allows the
applicant to match the existing garage roof.

Alternatives:

1. Deny the variance based on the finding that no hardship or
practical difficulty exists.

2. Approve the variance request based on the finding that a
hardship and/or practical difficulty exists.

Policy Objectives:

1. To insure that development occurs consistent with the City's
comprehensive plan and zoning ordinances.

2. To approve variances where hardships or practical
difficulties exist.

Staff Recommendation:

1. It is recommended that the city Council approve Carl Fisher's
