<br /> <br />The new Ramsey County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) <br />drop-off facility in Mounds View is open year round: <br /> <br />April - October November - March <br />Tuesday - Friday 12 noon to 7 p.m. Friday 12 noon to 7 p.m. <br />Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. <br />Sunday - Monday Closed Sunday - Thursday Closed <br /> <br />Closed: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day. <br /> <br />and accepts the following materials: <br /> <br /> <br />liquid paints & other finishes <br />aerosol cans <br />old gasoline <br /> <br />paint strippers <br />wood preservatives <br />solvents or thinners <br /> <br />weed killer <br />insecticides <br />rat poison <br /> <br />and other household products that are either poisonous, flammable, or corrosive. <br /> <br />Before transporting HHW to the drop-off facility, be sure that: <br />· the waste is in its original container, if possible; <br />· the containers do not leak; <br />· the containers have the original label, ifpossibIe; <br />· the contents of the container match the label; <br />· the containers are packed to withstand travel (in cardboard boxes, if possible). <br />· the materials are sorted into three groups: <br />1) latex paints; 2) oil paints; 3) other materials. <br /> <br />. . . but does not accept the following materials: <br /> <br /> <br />used motor oil or oil filters <br />empty containers <br />household batteries <br />ammunition or explosives <br /> <br />used tires <br />asbestos waste <br />lead-acid batteries <br />non-household waste <br /> <br />dried paint <br />appliances <br />anti-freeze <br />other non-hazardous waste <br /> <br />Call 633-EASY for information on how to properly recycle or dispose of these materials. <br /> <br />To dispose of ammunition or explosives, contact your local police department for help. <br /> <br />Over <br />
