County Road C. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />1. City ordinances require that motor vehicle leasing and sales <br />requires a special use permit in the I-1 zoning district. <br /> <br />2. A special use permit was approved for motor vehicle leasing <br />in 1976 but according to City records, it expired in 1979. <br />No follow up occurred and truck rental leasing has apparently <br />occurred on this site since then. <br /> <br />3. Staff advised strick Leasing that they would have to obtain a <br />new special use permit or an interim use permit to be in <br />compliance with the ordinance. Glen Mischke/Strick Trailer <br />has requested an interim use permit to operate on this site <br />for up to three years. <br /> <br />3. The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of <br />Glen Mischke/Strick Trailer request for an interim use permit <br />for three years at 1920 W. County Road C with the condition <br />that additional landscaping be added to the front subject to <br />staff review and approval. <br /> <br />Alternatives: <br /> <br />1. To approve the interim use permit with the conditions to <br />bring some temporary improvement to the property. <br /> <br />2. Deny the application based on inconsistency with the I-1 <br />zoning district and requirements. <br /> <br />Policy Obiectives: <br /> <br />1. To allow temporary use of properties for an interim period <br />until redevelopment occurs. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />1. It is recommended that the City council approve Glen <br />Mischke/strick Trailer request for an interim use permit at <br />1920 W. County Road C for a three year period with the <br />
