To: City of Roseville Planning Commission

From: Rosepointe Senior Housing, Ltd. Partnership

Date: September 20, 1991

Regarding: Variance For A Proposed Fence

RosePointe is a Senior Retirement Apartment complex consisting of
two buildings located on 45 acres of land located at 2555 Hamline
Avenue North, Roseville. We have been in operation since January
of 1988 and presently employ 41 employees. Over 70% of our 210
residents have lived in the Roseville area for more than 20 years.
We are very active in the Roseville community sponosoring concerts,
ice cream socials, driving classes and other civic events.

We are seeking a variance allowing us to construct a five foot high
fence with six feet high pillars. The fence is being constructed
at the request of our neighbors, Linda Neilson, 1349 Brooks, and
Robert & Margaret Bunde, 1357 Brooks. RosePointe is anxious to
satisfy these neighbors who have waited patiently for a new fence.
City code does not allow fences within thirty feet of the right of
way to be taller than four feet. Because our neighbors requested
that the new fence be built to five feet high we feel the need to
oblige them. The fence will be beautiful and will enhance the
appearance of the neighborhood.
