Mr. and Mrs. Dillner are requesting a minor variance to allow <br />them to construct an addition onto their existing attached <br />garage to add a third garage stall. The proposed addition <br />would be 10 feet from the rear lot line instead of the <br />required 30 feet. <br /> <br />3. The Minor Variance Committee unanimously recommended approval <br />of the minor variance based on the orientation of the <br />structure on the site and the unusual lot configuration. <br />4. The Dillner' s also own the adj acent lot which is the only <br />a~fected property by this request. <br /> <br />Alternatives: <br /> <br />1. Deny the variance based on the finding that no hardship or <br />practical difficulty exists on the site. <br /> <br />2. Grant the variance based on the finding that there is a <br />hardship or practical difficulty present on the site. <br /> <br />Policy Ob;ectives: <br /> <br />1. To insure that property is developed in accordance with the <br />City's zoning ordinance. <br /> <br />2. To grant variances where hardships and practical difficulties <br />are present. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />1. It is recommended that the City Council approve Joel and <br />Phyllis Dillner's request for a minor variance at 2192 Acorn <br />Road. <br />
