Octob0.r 14th,92

Mr. Rick Joepke
Roseville City Hall
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville,MN 55113

Dear Mr. Joepke¡

This letter is in regards to the vacant lot
situation on Oakcrest Avenue here in Roseville. Hope this
reaches you before a decision is made what to do with the
property in question. To myself and my wife Rebecca, this
whole thing reminds me of a grade school fight on the play
ground, and whoever is the biggest kid usually won.

Frankly, we care what does happen to the property mentioned.
What we do care about what happens is the land is not developed
for use of the neighborhood and it not be made into a walkway
for those who live in the area. Yes it would be convient for
some who are too lazy to walk down to either end of Oakcrest.
But from what I have seen, there aren't too many who walk this
neighborhood, I see the majority drive to the places they need
to go to, rather than walk. Why? Whether it is todays society
because everyone is in such a hurry and everything is so much
more convient than things used to be.

I would never dream of cutting a hole into a fence to make
things more convient. Think of all the crime possibilities you
would be setting yourself up for. I would not want to be the
people who lived on either side. We like our neighborhood the
way it is. It is quiet and peaceful and reminds us of the small
town in western Wisconsin where we both grew up. The neighbors
we have are friendly and courteous. When I work alot of nights,
I can feel comfortable at work knowing my wife is safe and in
a good neighborhood. I also feel safe walking in this area and
don't have to feel that I have feel insecure about my house
or personal property WE own. This is why we chose this area when
we moved here, we liked the way it was kept up by all who owned
property. Lets keep it the same way as always. LOQk~at~äll:tbe
police reports filed in this area. Never a week goes by that
someone in the mall, or someone's car near by in the lot gets
broken into and things stolen or vandalized. In this neighborhood
I haven't read many things that happens to individuals or there
personal property. If we open up a spot, I guarantee it won't
be long and WE ALL will have people in our neighborhood that we
don't want, at least not me.
