BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson lives in the neighborhood immediately north of the <br />Crossroads Shopping Center. His home and a neighboring home which <br />he is purchasing back up to the shopping center property. Between <br />them is the stub of Aldine Street right-of-way from Oakcrest to <br />the shopping center property line. Since the shopping center has <br />precluded any extension of Aldine Street to the south, Mr. <br />Anderson is requesting that it be vacated to allow the creation of <br />a new buildable lot. The preliminary plat he is requesting <br />consists of three lots: his lot, the street right-of-way lot, and <br />the neighboring lot. <br /> <br />2. DEVELOPMENT SUMMARY <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson's lot is a corner lot, and is 95' wide, wider than <br />average. The Aldine right-of-way is 60' wide, narrower than <br />average.
