<br />14. Sians aftà-Bi±±bea~às <br /> <br />14.010. Permits for Siqns Required. <br /> <br />Signs are permitted in all Use Districts, subject to the provisions <br />of this chapter. No sign as herein defined shall be erected or <br />attached to a structure, fence or wall without a permit from the <br />Chief Code Enforcement Officer, (except that a£e~-8a±eA real estate <br />and political signs in R-1 and R-2 zoning districts shall be exempt <br />from this requirement). <br /> <br />14.020. Definitions <br /> <br />1. Sign. <br /> <br />A sign is a name, identification, description, display, <br />illustration or device which is affixed to, painted, or <br />represented directly or indirectly upon the outside of a <br />building or other surface, and which directs attention to an <br />object, product, place, activity, person, institution, <br />organization, or business. A sign shall be considered as a <br />structure or part of a structure for the purpose of applying <br />yard and height regulations except as hereinafter <br />stipulated. <br /> <br />2. Name plate Sian. <br /> <br />A name plat sign is a sign which states only the name or <br />address or both of the business or occupant of the lot where <br />such sign is placed. <br /> <br />3. Business Sian. <br /> <br />A business sign is a sign which directs attention to a <br />business, its name and address, located on the premises of <br />the business, or to a commodity, service or entertainment <br />sold or offered upon the premises where such sign is <br />located. <br /> <br />4. Advertisinq siQn. <br /> <br />An advertising sign is a sign which does not direct <br />attention to a business, its name or address, located on the <br />premises of the business, or to a commodity, service or <br />entertainment sold or offered upon the premises where such <br />sign is located including all signs not otherwise permitted <br />by this Code. <br />
