FBI SURVEILLANCE EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE FACILITY SUMMARY The Special Use Permit contemplated by this request would permit the occupancy of the Federal Bureau of Investigations Surveillance Equipment Maintenance facility at the Gateway Business Center, located at the southeast intersection of County Road C and Long Lake Road. The permit also requests permission to install approximately 120 linear feet of screened chain link fence in order to provide 900 square feet of outdoor storage for three vehicles. Please note that the fence is not visible from County Road C or Long Lake Road. We feel the 7,850 square foot facility would benefit the City of Roseville and be compatible with the Retail Office Service District Use for the following reasons: Corresponding Use: This use corresponds to Auto Service Use detailed in the zoning code 8.410 under "Uses by Special Permit in Retail Office Service District". The F. B.I. facility use would not, however, change the building exterior and would not subject the surrounding area to the "retail" aspect of a service station, in that only. F.B.I. equipment would be serviced there. . . Parking/Traffic: . The preliminary plan indicates that access to the facility from the County Road C side of the building would be for office traffic only. Van parking would be facilitated indoors and inside the screened fenced area. No other long term outside storage will be necessary for this use. Soace Use: Only 2,700 square feet of the 7,850 square foot facility is devoted to strictly automotive repair. The remaining premises will be utilized for office, restrooms/lockers, and maintenance and repair of the Bureau's Surveillance equipment. Employees working at the facility work with advanced technology and are highly trained. We believe this information warrants approval of the Special Use Permit contemplated by this request.
