County Road C-2. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />1. Centennial United Methodist Church is located on county Road <br />C-2, east of Snelling Avenue. There is a piece of City owned <br />land between the Snelling Avenue right-of-way and the church <br />property. <br /> <br />2. City ordinances require that signs be setback 30 feet from <br />public right-of-way. <br /> <br />3. Centennial united Methodist Church is proposing to locate a <br />free standing sign five feet from the property line instead <br />of the required 30 feet. The sign would comply with all <br />other setback and sign ordinance requirements. <br /> <br />4 . The Planning commission unanimously recommended approval of <br />Clifford Lund/Centennial united Methodist Church request for <br />a sign setback variance at 1524 W. county Road C-2 with the <br />condition that the existing free standing sign be removed. <br /> <br />Alternatives: <br /> <br />1. Deny the variance based on the finding that no hardship or <br />practical difficulty exists. <br /> <br />2. Approve the variance based on the finding that there are <br />hardships or practical difficulties present on the site. <br /> <br />policv Obiectives: <br /> <br />1. To insure development occurs consistent with the City's <br />zoning ordinance. <br /> <br />2.
