During street reconstruction projects, it has been the City's <br />practice to bring driveways into compliance with code <br />requirements or have the property owner seek a variance. <br /> <br />3. The Konstantinides are seeking a 9 foot and a 5 foot variance <br />from the setback requirements from street right-of-ways to <br />allow their driveways to remain in their current locations. <br /> <br />4. The Minor Variance Committee unanimously recommended approval <br />of the variances. It was the Committee's belief that moving <br />the driveway would make access to the garage difficult and <br />would require removing mature trees. <br /> <br />5. All affected adjacent property owners indicated their <br />approval of the proposed variance. <br /> <br />Alternatives: <br /> <br />1. Deny the variance based on the finding that no hardship or <br />practical difficulties exist on the site. <br /> <br />2. Grant the variance based on the finding that a hardship or <br />practical difficulty is present on the site. <br /> <br />policv objective: <br /> <br />1. To insure that development occurs consistent with the city's <br />zoning ordinances and comprehensive plan. <br /> <br />2.
