Independent School District #623
STS Project #95192- YF
March 20. 199 J
Page 3

~~

No PI D meter readings were detected ahove background levels. No fuel oil odors were
identified. Background levels for the PID meter were zero (0) HNU units. The PID results
are included on the boring logs enclosed with this letter.

Chemical Analysis

Two soil samples were collected for lahoratory analysis. Sample 8-7 (S-4) and Sample B-9
(S-4) were collected between JO and 11.5 feet in soil borings 8-7 and 8-9. The samples
were analyzed for benzene. ethylbenzene. toluene. xylene (8ETX) and total petroleum
hydrocarbons (TPH) as fuel oil.

No concentrations of BETX or TPH exceeded laboratory detection limits. A copy of the
laboratory result and chain of custody form is attached to this letter.

Conclusions

No evidence of petroleum contamination was detected during the soil exploration. Although
the soil borings did not identify petroleum impacts. it does not guarantee that no
petroleum impacts exist. Releases at piping connections or at the fill pipes may have
occurred which were not identified. The age of the tanks makes them more susceptible to
corrosion failures of the piping and/or tanks.

General Qualifications

The analysis and conclusions submitted in this report are based upon data as presented in
this report.
