MEMORANDUM
Community Development Department

Oct. 26,1994

To:

Steve Sarkozy, City Manager
Ed Burrell, Finance Director

From:

Dennis Welsch, Community Development Director

Subject:

ACI Fence, Landscaping, Utilities

Mike Falk reports on the progress of the ACI landscape/bermlfence project as follows. NSP still
hasn't completed the utility pole movement, but is hoping to complete the work this week.

ACI has received bids for all work and anticipates beginning as soon as NSP moves.

Estimated Costs

NSP
Fratalone - Storm Sewer & Grading
Fencing
Landscaping

$19,260 *
$34,785
$19,000
$13,900

Total

$86,945

The City has pledged to repay 50% (now $43,472) of these costs to ACI when work is
completed.

Dan McCarthy is extremely doubtful that NSP will complete their work, based on poor
performance all summer and fall. His best guess is that, at best, there is a 30% chance the fence
will be installed this year. The landscaping will be done in the Spring of 1995.

* more than double original estimate

1
