e

ALADDIN'S CASTLE HISTORY

Aladdin's Castle was founded by Jules Millman in 1968. Jules was the pioneer in
operating amusement centers in regional malls and shopping centers. The basic concept was the
installation of a popular assortment of prize redemption and video games in an attractive, we)}
lit facility. In order to convince developers to go along with this new concept, they were
promised that the new concept would be a fIrst quality store, elegantly decorated, carpeted, that
no food, drinks, or smoking would be allowed, and that it would be completely supervised and
attended at all times.
Reflective of the American lifestyle, these malls experience a tremendous amount of
traffic of the entire family -- eating, shopping and playing as a single unit at all hours of the day.
Consequently, a new generation of amusement centers had been born.
Field tested and perfected in the Chicago metropolitan market, the Aladdin I s Castle
amusement center concept has grown from a single unit in 1968 into a highly successful
e operation of approximately 275 stores located in forty-three states and ranging in size from a
minimum of 750 square feet to a maximum of in excess of 15,000 square feet.
In 1974, Jules Millman merged the company, then known as American Amusements,
with Bally Manufacturing Corporation and became known as Bally's Aladdin's Castle; now a
registered trademark. The name Aladdin' s Castle was inspired by the Aladdin' s Castle Fun
House located in the world famous Riverview Amusement Park that operated in Chicago from
1904 until 1967.
On June 29, 1989, Aladdin's Castle was acquired by Wesray Holding Company located
in Morristown, New Jersey.
On January 7, 1993, Aladdin's Castle was acquired by Namco-America, Inc., a
subsidiary of Namco Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan.

I
