County Road C. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />1. At its regular meeting of September 27, 1993, the Roseville <br />City Council adopted an ordinance amending Paragraph C of <br />section 34.030 of the city Code of the City of Roseville. This <br />section of the code designates where above ground flammable <br />liquid storage tanks are permitted within the City. The <br />amendment provides for the placement of storage tanks in other <br />non-residentially zoned areas of the city through the issuance <br />of a permit approved by the city Council. The permit is <br />subject to the review and recommendations of the Fire Marshal <br />and to conditions that may be imposed by the city Council. The <br />permit is also subject to annual review for compliance with <br />original conditions. <br /> <br />2. Carlson Equipment company, located at 1380 W. County Road C, <br />has applied for a permit to install a new 2,000 gallon storage <br />tank that would replace two existing 1,000 gallon tanks. The <br />storage tank is proposed to be located behind the carlson <br />building, screened from view frpm County Road C. The tank will <br />also be screened from abutting ¡properties by a fence. Vehicle <br />protection posts will be placed around the concrete slab <br />together with lighting, fire extinguisher equipment, and <br />lightning protection. <br /> <br />3. The plans have been reviewed and approved by the state Fire <br />Marshal's office. The Rosevilll3 Fire Marshal has also reviewed <br />the proposal and found it to; be consistent with fire code <br />requirements. In essence, th proposal is a safe facility, <br />meeting all State and local ode requirements, replacing an <br />existing two tank facility. <br /> <br />staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />1. Based on the findings that t e proposed 2,000 gallon above <br />ground fuel storage tank meet all State and local fire code <br />requirements and is located i the rear yard, screened from <br />pUþlic view, staff would recommend approval of the Carlson <br />Equipment company request for a permit to install a new 2,000 <br />
