Griggs
Street.

BackgrOlmd:

1. City ordinances require that driveways be setback at least 5 feet from side lot
lines.

2. Mr. Lanz is proposing to install an addition onto his existing driveway which
will create a 19 foot wide area adjacent to his home and the rest of the
driveway to the street will be 16 feet wide. His garage is a single car garage
with a 14 foot wide driveway. The purpose of the expansion is to provide an
additional parking stall and to widen the existing driveway on the property.
The proposed stall would be 3 feet ftom the property line. This requires a 2
foot variance.

3. The Minor Variance Committee unanimously recommended approval of the
variance. It was the Committee's belief that with a single car garage, it was
reasonable to provide more off street vehicle parking and maneuvering.

4. All affected adjacent property owners indicated their approval of the proposed
variance.

Alternatives:

1 . Deny the variance based on the finding that no hardship or practical difficulty
exists on the site.
